Spa Background
This spa pitches itself as a quiet sanctuary from the bustle of the city, complete with nature-inspired décor and Arabian subtleties. It forms part of the much larger Festival City on Dubai Creek, a complex that includes two five-star hotels (InterContinental and Crowne Plaza Festival City) and the huge Festival City Mall. But would the madness of Dubai truly feel a million miles away? We tried it out.

The reception area was a chilled out, illuminated space with calming music and comfy and sofas. Later on we were sat in another relaxation area. This area felt slightly soulless – it lacked the cosiness of the reception area – but was still furnished to a high standard with daybeds, calm lighting and music. The changing rooms were very well equipped, with showers, sauna and private changing cubicles. Guests are presented with beautifully soft robes and pointy slippers to wear for the duration of their stay. The treatment rooms are spacious and well equipped. Successfully appealing to all senses, the lighting was soft and subdued, the music was at just the right volume and the smell was divine.
Service
A lovely staff member greeted us warmly and sat us down in the relaxing reception area until it was time to get changed. We were offered a cup of iced tea and a cold, scented towel. In between treatments RASK was well looked after, and offered more tea and some nuts.
Treatment
RASK opted to start with a deep tissue massage, which was excellent and thorough, showing the strength and skill of the therapist. Our second treatment was the signature Sundari Classic Facial. This intensive treatment includes numerous masks exfoliations, and extractions. At times, it didn’t feel pleasant at all – but RASK was assured that it’d be worth it. Immediately following the treatment our skin was red and little irritated. The next morning, however, our skin glowed!
Verdict
First class treatments, from first class staff. The décor and ambiance was great – and, as you expect in Dubai – everything was new and done to a very high standard. The waiting area could have been styled more imaginatively, but overall RASK emerged feeling relaxed, cleansed and happy.
